Evenflo EmbraceTM Infant Car Seat/Carriers Product Recall
At Evenflo, we take reports of problems related to our products very seriously. When we heard about issues related to the handle of our Embrace Infant Car Seat/Carriers, we began to investigate the potential causes and evaluated the handle mechanism. We ultimately took pro-active measures to redesign the handle latch mechanism to improve its strength.
Working in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), we have issued a recall of Embrace models made before April 8, 2006.
We have alerted all our retail partners to this recall and are taking pro-active measures to ensure that consumers who own one of the recalled products immediately stop using the handle of the infant carrier until they are able to install a free repair kit that they can order through a toll-free 800 number or through our dedicated recall Web site, www.embracehandle.com.
The Embrace Infant Car Seat/Carriers meet the federal government crash test safety standard and can continue to be used as a car seat when secured in a vehicle. A car seat that is installed and used correctly is the most effective safety device available for young children in automobiles. |
