This checklist is not intended to replace your car seat instruction manual. You must read the instruction manuals for your car seat and your vehicle before using the car seat.
Checklist for Rear-facing Child Restraint
Child Requirements
Weight: 5 – 35 lbs

Child restraint for children who weigh 5 – 35 lbs. |

IMPORTANT: A properly secured convenience base does NOT move more than 1 inch from side-to-side or from front-to-back at the LATCH harness/ vehicle belt path.

| 2. |
Top of the child's head is at least 1 inch below the top of the child restraint seat back. |
| 3. |
Installation with the convenience base can be secured with either the LATCH system or the vehicle seat belt. |
| 4. |
Locking clip is installed for shoulder and lap belts, if needed. |

Shoulder harness straps MUST be at, or slightly below, shoulder level with no more than two finger-widths from the child. |
6.
|
Buckle tongues are fully engaged. |
7.
|
Chest clip is fastened and at armpit level. |
8.
|
To properly secure this child restraint, it MUST NOT move more than 1 inch from side-to-side or from front-to-back at the rear-facing belt path. |
9.
|
The level line MUST be between the two marks. |
