ISSUE

There are two separate issues that led to this action.

First, certain child car seats may not meet the requirements of the Canadian regulations with respect to dynamic testing when installed in a rear-facing position using the vehicle seat belt and tether. A child seat that doesn't meet the requirements of the Canadian regulations could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Transport Canada has assigned recall #2025-372 to this issue.

Second, the French language warning label affixed to these products (but not the English label) omits a statement that the tether should be used when the seats is installed in rear-facing mode, even though that is recommended in the instructions. It also refers to use of the product in booster mode, even though that is not one of the use-modes for which it is suitable or certified. An car seat installed in a manner inconsistent with the instructions could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Transport Canada has assigned recall #2025-401 to this issue.

SAFETY RISK

A child seat that doesn't meet the requirements of the Canadian regulations could increase the risk of injury in a crash.

Evenflo has no reports of injuries associated with these conditions. The potential non-compliance relating to performance does not exist in other modes of operations, such as forward-facing installation and rear-facing installed utilizing the Universal Anchorage System (UAS) LATCH system.

CORRECTIVE ACTIONS

You may continue to use your car seat in the rear-facing position if installed using the UAS. The seat is also safe for use in the forward-facing position. There is also no safety risk for children less than 4.9 kg (11 lbs). The seat should always be installed in accordance with its instructions (which recommend use of the tether in all use modes). The seat should not be used as a booster.

Evenflo will provide a free remedy kit (including a replacement French language warning label) to all registered owners, which is projected to be available on or after September 15, 2025. Do not use the vehicle seat belt to install the seat rear-facing until the remedy kit has been installed.

The affected seats should not be returned to retailers or the company. Consumers must register their child seat online or call (company’s) customer service line to receive a remedy kit. • For Canadian families using the car seat in rear-facing mode for children 5 – 15.9 kg (11 – 35 lb), the car seat should be installed with LATCH/UAS, if available in your vehicle. This installation method is fully compliant and safe to use while waiting for your remedy kit.
• For Canadian families using this car seat with children over the age of 2 and between 10 – 18.1 kg (22 – 40 lb), you can also turn your child to face forward while waiting for your remedy kit.
