Our infant car seats are tested above and beyond industry standards and are designed to meet new parents’ top priorities—safety, quality, comfort and installation ease. One of our key safety features is SensorSafe® technology, designed to give parents added peace of mind. This innovative system works by alerting caregivers when a child is left in the car after reaching their destination or if the chest clip becomes unbuckled during the trip. It uses two components: a wireless receiver that plugs into the vehicle’s On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) port, and a smart chest clip that communicates via radio frequency. Additionally, we work to make safety easier with best-in-class ease of installation. SureLATCH Installation allows for a secure fit in seconds — simply click the LATCH into your vehicle and push down to hear and feel the seat auto-tighten. For a secure installation every time, SureSafe Installation features push-on connectors and LATCH guides for added convenience.

Infant Car Seat FAQs

Q: When should I switch from an infant car seat?

You should transition your child from an infant car seat when they exceed the seat's maximum weight or height limits—typically 30 lbs or 32 inches for Evenflo models (may vary by product). Additionally, if your child's head is within one inch of the top of the seat, it's time to switch. Learn more about what to do when a child grows out of a car seat here!

Q: What's the next car seat after an infant car seat?

After your child outgrows their infant car seat, the next step is a convertible car seat or all-in-one car seat and using it in the rear-facing position until your child reaches the maximum weight or height limit for that mode. These seats can be used in both rear-facing and forward-facing positions, accommodating your child's growth. Additionally, all-in-one car seats offer a booster seat option.

Q: What is the 2-hour car seat rule?

The "2-hour rule" advises that infants should not be in a car seat for more than 2 hours at a time. This guideline is recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Learn more on how to prepare for the two-hour drive limit here!
