DO NOT lubricate or immerse in water the LATCH connectors, the buckle, or any other part of this child restraint, unless rinsing is permitted, as stated on the back of the buckle for your restraint. | Plastic and metal parts may be wiped clean with mild soap and water and dried with a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. | Take care not to damage any labels. | The harness can be wiped clean with mild soap and water. Allow harness to air dry. | Machine wash the seat pad separately in cold water, delicate cycle. Tumble dry 10 to 15 minutes on low heat. | NEVER use child restraint without the seat pad. | To protect the child restraint from damage caused by weather, rodents, and other elements common to garages, the outdoors, and other storage locations, remove the seat pad and thoroughly clean the restraint and pad prior to storage. Take care to clean in the areas where crumbs and other debris tend to accumulate.

Q. What is the weight of the car seat?
The following product weight is an estimate and may vary slightly depending on the specific fashion and trim of your car seat. Infant carrier = base = 15.5 lb; Infant carrier alone = 8.9 lb
Q. Does this car seat have an anti-rebound bar?
No, this car seat does not have an anti-rebound bar. This car seat meets or exceeds all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards and Evenflo's internal testing standards. This car seat is engineered to manage crash energy appropriately without the addition of an anti-rebound bar.
Q. Does this car seat have a load leg?
All LiteMax infant carriers are compatible with all LiteMax infant car seat bases, including the LiteMax DLX Base with Load Leg (which is sold as a unit with the LiteMax DLX). The load leg base can be purchased as an accessory at evenflo.com.
Q. Can I use the Evenflo LiteMax infant car seat if my baby is less than 4 lbs?
The Evenflo LiteMax and SafeMax infant car seats have a weight range of 4 – 35 lbs (1.8 – 15.8 kg) and a height range of 17 – 32 inches (43 – 81 cm). It is important to always follow the information provided in the car seat instruction manual when installing and using your car seat.
However, to help meet the needs of families with very small infants, the Evenflo LiteMax and SafeMax infant car seats may be used with a smaller infant as indicated below:
Weight: 3 – 35 lbs (1.4 – 15.8 kg)
Height: 15.75 – 32 in (40 – 81 cm)
This update is a retroactive change to existing Evenflo LiteMax and SafeMax infant car seats. The following guidelines must be followed when using this car seat between 3 – 4 lbs (1.4 – 1.8 kg) and 15.75 – 17 in (40 – 43 cm):
The infant’s clinical team must approve of use and fit. Evenflo recommends following the AAP guidance and conducting an angle tolerance test prior to discharge. (Pediatrics 2009; 123: 1424-1429; reaffirmed June 2018).
Harness is positioned at or below the infant’s shoulders.
There is no gap between the child and the buckle.
Chest clip is positioned at armpit level.
Harness must be snug.
Date of manufacture 1/1/2018 or newer – infant insert is OPTIONAL for child fit.
Date of manufacture 12/31/2017 or older – infant insert is REQUIRED for infants who weigh between 3 – 4 lbs (1.4 – 1.8 kg) and OPTIONAL for infants who weight over 4 lbs (1.8 kg).
Travel should be limited to only what is necessary. It is recommended to have an adult observing the infant in the back seat and conducting frequent rest breaks during travel.
The head pillow, harness covers and buckle pad are OPTIONAL for all LiteMax seats, regardless of the date they were manufactured. As with any child using a child restraint, please ensure that all the other requirements set forth in the instruction manual for the child restraint are met.
Q. Is it okay for my child's feet to touch the vehicle seat back when in rear-facing mode?
Yes. This car seat is designed to accommodate children in rear-facing mode until they are 32 inches (81 cm) tall or weigh 35 lb (15.8 kg). It is okay for your child's feet to touch the back of the vehicle seat. When determining if your child has outgrown the car seat in rear-facing mode it is important to check for where your child's head is positioned inside the car seat. They should have at least one inch (2.5 cm) of car seat or headrest over the top of their head.
