Sonus 65 Convertible Car Seat Support

The Sonus™ 65 Convertible Car Seat offers the ideal fit for both child AND car, AND an extended weight rating. The compact size fits 3 seats across in most mid-size vehicles, while the wider seat base fits a broader range of children. With a weight rating of 65 lbs, and a rear-facing weight rating of 40 lbs, your child can stay rear-facing and harnessed longer! This seat offers a built-in ventilation system, helping to keep child comfortable during long and short trips. Dual, integrated cup holders keep snacks and drinks within reach, and the removable, machine-washable seat pad makes inevitable cleaning of the seat far easier. Evenflo® car seats have been tested above and beyond industry standards and undergo our rigorous side impact and dynamic rollover tests. Additionally, all Evenflo seats include live video installation support, allowing you to schedule an appointment with a car seat technician, so you have the confidence that your seat is correctly installed.   • Care

    • DO NOT lubricate or immerse in water the LATCH connectors, the buckle, or any other part of this child restraint, unless rinsing is permitted, as stated on the back of the buckle for your restraint.
    • Plastic and metal parts may be wiped clean with mild soap and water and dried with a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
    • Take care not to damage any labels.
    • Cup holder liners are dishwasher safe (top rack only).
    • The harness can be wiped clean with mild soap and water. Allow harness to air dry.
    • Machine wash the seat pad separately in cold water, delicate cycle. Tumble dry 10 to 15 minutes on low heat.
    • NEVER use child restraint without the seat pad.
    • To protect the child restraint from damage caused by weather, rodents, and other elements common to garages, the outdoors, and other storage locations, remove the seat pad and thoroughly clean the restraint and pad prior to storage. Take care to clean in the areas where crumbs and other debris tend to accumulate.

Will this work well on an airplane?

The Sonus 65 is FAA approved.

How do you install this car seat?

There are belt paths on the side of the seat, one rear facing and one for forward facing. Your LATCH or vehicle seat belt will feed through the belt path and you would attach the LATCH to the anchors. Or if using vehicle seat belt you will just buckle the belt in. The seat will come with instructions which does show and explain how to install the seat.

What is a re-thread harness?

Re-thread means the harness is attached to a splitter plate and in order to change the harness, one must remove the straps from the plate and re-thread through another slot in the seat.

Does this car seat have a steel frame?

The Sonus 65 does not have a reinforced steel frame.

When installed as rear facing, does it lean back or sit straight up?

It does recline when rear facing.

What is the manufacture date and expiration date?

The manufacture date and expiration date is found on the car seat or the registration card that comes with the seat. The Sonus 65 has a 6 year lifespan from the manufacture date.

Do you have to re-thread this to adjust the shoulder straps?

Yes, the Sonus 65 is a re-thread harness.

What's the difference between this and the Stratos Convertible Car Seat?

There is no separate base for convertible seats; the base or recline stand/foot is already assembled to the seat.

This seat is a convertible seat and can be used rear facing from 5-40 lbs, and forward facing from 22-65 lbs. It does not convert to a booster.

Does this car seat come with its base included?

The Sonus car seat does not have a separate base since it is a convertible seat. The recline stand is affixed to the underside of the seat, and the seat stays installed in the vehicle.

Can this seat be carried around as an infant carrier?

The Sonus is considered a convertible car seat and does not have the carry handle like infant seats do.
