"I like the color. We use it more as a deterrent. We lean it across an entry and the dogs recognize the limit. IF we needed to adjust the width repeatedly, this would have been sent back. It would be useless if we needed it to actually lock into a door jam. Our previous one, with a metal adjusting lock got broken after too many years and moves. I am disappointed with the new design. If we get a puppy, this will be an issue."

"I would not recommend this large baby gate. Whoever designed this made changes when no changes were needed. It is very difficult to lock and unlock and when it is locked, does not provide adequate tension. We liked the dark wood color it wasn't worth the struggle to use it. The item was returned. Evenflo was gracious in the return process but now I can see why so many others have given this a poor review."
"I purchased three of these from Amazon. I think it was a bait and switch because I got the position and lock not the other one which was a pressure mounted lock system. The video on Amazon clearly shows the one I wanted now I’m going to return them. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it and your new position & lock has a plastic lock that’s gonna break, you know that’s gonna break .The other one was easy to use the lift and lock it and it was metal. As you can see from many reviews people agree with me."
""Easy lock" is plastic and is not easy to use, nor does it work. It's not a functioning piece. Installation requires drilling holes in doorjamb, which was not in description, and I won't do. I requested return authorization 3 days ago, but have not heard a word from them yet."

"I have a 40 year old gate just like the latest one I purchased the old gate locking system was just a metal u shaped clamp which locked the position of the gate. This gate has a plastic lock which is impossible to operate and difficult to move. My old gate you just slid it into position adjust the gate width place the space location mechanism in the slot and push the lock bar down. Done. This gate system you fight to slid the plastic lock off the the top bar position the gate hope to keep the gate position where you want it and fight to get the plastic lock in place and hope it holds. If this is a improvement the designer needs to try to operate this gate. Then operate a old one like I have. I’m sending it back. This company needs to go back to the old lock mechanism."
"I echo the sentiments of other users. I too have multiple college degrees and older versions of this product. I expected the metal lock-down arm. This sliding plastic lock lacks usability design. While I didn't expect to need instructions for using a baby/dog gate. it would have been nice for the ones provided to be larger than 4pt font. The unopened gate is going back to Walmart and the other will be repurposed."
