A load leg is a support mechanism that extends from a car seat to the vehicle floor. It prevents or reduces excessive forward and downward rotation of the car seat in a crash. It may also be referred to as a foot prop, stability leg or support leg. It may be found on an infant car seat, convertible or all-in-one car seat, or booster seat.
